Back to the Old Days

Since the arrival of the new “Special One”(Andre Villas-Boas), he has made it clear that Chelsea will now be playing a brand of free flowing football in the next term. Hopefully sparking some life back into a squad that was deadly under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, but has lost much of it’s class since. Surely they had one good season under previous manager Carlo Ancelotti where they won the double (Premier League and FA Cup), but even with all his qualities he wasn’t able to install that fear factor that was laid in by Mourinho. Many have already drawn comparison between Mourinho and Villas-Boas, but in actuality the two are not so much alike. The self proclaimed “Special One” likes to play a more defensive and safe system, whereas Villas-Boas is more of an attack minded coach that likes to play at a high tempo. All in all, it seems the Chelsea players are more than happy to be reunited with an old friend in Andre, and you just have a sense that he may be the one to bring back the Chelsea flair of old.

Great article! I def. liked how u gave us an insight on both the coaches, but come on, let’s face it: we all def. dont want Chelsea to re-ignite themselves lol! They are one hell of a team and we don’t need another headache. But it’s going to be interesting to see how Villas-Boas runs his system with the Chelsea style of play!

No matter what happens with Chelsea, I think the title will go to either Manchester clubs–Preferably the blue side ;)
